“Semper Praepartus Bene”
Always Prepare Well
The Department of Defense recognizes and supports the ongoing need for realistic combat injury simulation training. Utilizing high fidelity moulage techniques in training better equips medical personnel to deal with actual battlefield trauma and triage. Very life-like or real-to-the-eye injury simulations increases the knowledge and performance of responders.
In an All Hazards training mindset accurate and graphic casualty simulations, or moulage, used in medical training scenarios and field training exercises induces a faster and more defined psychosomatic response for triage in actual battlefield theatre operations as well as civilian mass casualty incidents (MCI).

Training with realistic wound reproductions increases knowledge and performance in three key areas:
- Knowledge retention;
- Injury identification; and
- Reaction time when it is most needed!
Anecdotal evidence is emerging that the early and consistent application of hi-fidelity injury simulations can aid in the reduction of post trauma stress related injury for combat medics. Our Australian partner, TraumaSim is currently working with leading academic institutions in researching this potential linkage.
