Moulage Hands-On Training Workshops

Our realistic casualty simulation/moulage courses have been carefully designed under the guidance of a military and civilian medical advisory counsel along with military medics on staff with our company who have recently served on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan. Each workshop is co-instructed by a military medical professional along with an award winning moulage materials and technique expert.

This unique combination provides the student with the most state of the art taticals and technique, which translates to cutting edge moulage execution for all casualty simulation trainings. These moulage workshops are scheduled routinely at our facility in the Washington, DC Metro area throughout the year. They can also be scheduled, by prior contract arrangement, at your location and facilities.

"Boot Camp" Elementary Technician Workshop: is a highly compressed and intensive three (3) day course designed for the student to immediately stand up a strong "top to bottom, front to back" knowledge base in moulage appropriate materials along with proficiency in the fundamental concepts, design, composition, and construction of moulage appliances. The third day provides the student with an additional supervised hands-on laboratory with personal tutoring to help them recall and refine their knowlege and execution along with additional professional tips and add-on techniques.

Upon completion of this workshop the student is a certified moulage technician ready to perform in their unit field training exercises as a moulage specialist.

"Warfighter" Advanced Professional Workshop: this is also a highly compressed and intensive three (3) day course that takes the fundamental moulage skill set acquired through the Elementary Class into more advanced materials and multi-level construction techniques that are state of the art in front line moulage being done today.

Upon completion of both Elementary and Advanced moulage workshops students will possess a complete skill set with proficiency in creating a wide variety of real-to-the eye casualty simulations. Their renderings will be visually consistent with documented battlefield injuries typically found in foreign conflicts as well as civilian mass casualty incidents.

From designs in minor injuries to critical life threatening wounds and amputations, the student will have a motion picture quality skill set and working index that will be in demand for high fidelity moulage skills in execution.

Note: each workshop is a complete skill enabled program and independent of each other. Please note that the Boot Camp Elementary Technician class is a prerequisite for completion in order to enroll in the Warfighter Advanced Professional technique class.

Boot Camp Materials Knowledge and Skill Acquisition Includes:

  • Acquiring the visual and working index of the "Trauma Twelve" casualty simulations (minor to critically injured).
  • The 5 formats of moulage composition and their execution.
  • Introduction and hands-on laboratory use of cutting edge moulage materials and techniques used for high fidelity realism.
  • Motion picture quality construction methods and finishing techniques.
  • Bleeding and non-bleeding injury simulations, from incident injuries to IED explosions, small arms fire, and vehicular/aircraft crashes.

Warfighter Professional Skill Set Includes:

  • Advanced materials, construction, and application techniques that build on the acquired knowledge and skill performance in the Boot Camp Elementary workshop.
  • Building tertiary wound simulations in advanced materials.
  • Working the profile of WMD's, and disease ailments.
  • Extensive instruction and hands-on laboratory work in producing silicone based moulage.
  • Instruction in static case reproduction work.

All workshops include lecture, demonstrations, and intensive hands-on laboratory phases in construction of a variety of moulage appliances. Each workshop is strictly limited to a small number students to insure the best professional results.

Students will take home a compliment of reference materials, moulage products and construction materials, and completed renderings that are included in the workshop price. Students will also receive a course completion certificate indicating 24 contact hour credits per each three (3) day workshop.
