Moulage Hands-On Training Workshops

Our casualty simulation moulage courses have been carefully designed under the guidance of a military and civilian medical advisory counsel along with military medics on our staff, and some who have recently served on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan.

We provide the student with the most state of the art materials and technique which translates to cutting edge moulage execution for all casualty simulation trainings. These workshops are conducted routinely at our facility in the Washington, DC Metro area throughout the year. They can also be scheduled, by prior contract arrangement, at your installation or a facility convenient to you.

"Boot Camp" Elementary Technician Workshop: is a highly compressed and intensive three (3) day course designed for the beginning, intermediate or advanced student to immediately stand up a strong "top to bottom, front to back" knowledge base in moulage appropriate materials along with proficiency in the fundamental concepts, design, composition, and construction of moulage appliances. The third day provides the student with an additional supervised hands-on laboratory with personal tutoring to help them recall and refine their knowledge and execution along with additional professional tips and add-on techniques.

Boot Camp Knowledge and Skill Acquisition Includes:

  • Acquiring the visual and working index of the "Trauma Twelve" casualty simulations (minor to critically injured).
  • The 5 formats of moulage composition and their execution.
  • Introduction and hands-on laboratory use of cutting edge moulage materials and techniques used for high fidelity realism.
  • Bleeding and non-bleeding injury simulations, from incident injuries to IED explosions, small arms fire, and vehicular/aircraft crashes.

Upon completion of this workshop the certified student is ready to perform in their unit's field training exercises as a moulage specialist.

"A.I.T." Advanced Injury Training Workshop: this is also a highly compressed and intensive three (3) day course that takes the fundamental moulage skill set acquired through "Boot Camp" into more advanced materials and multi-level construction techniques that are in the front line of casualty simulation moulage being done today.

"A.I.T." Advanced Injury Skill Set Includes:

  • Advanced materials, construction, and application techniques that build on the acquired knowledge and skills performance in the "Boot Camp".
  • Building wound simulations in advanced materials.
  • Working the profile of WMD's, and disease ailments.
  • Extensive instruction and hands-on laboratory work in producing silicone based moulage.
  • Instruction in static case reproduction work.

All workshops include didactic, demonstrations, and intensive hands-on laboratory phases in construction of a variety of moulage appliances. Each workshop is strictly size limited to maintain a low, student-to-teacher ratio which fosters the best professional results.

Upon completion of both Boot Camp and A.I.T. moulage workshops students will possess an extensive skill set with proficiency in creating a wide variety of real-to-the eye casualty simulations. Their renderings will be visually consistent with documented battlefield injuries and those of mass casualty incidents.

From designs in minor injuries to critical life threatening wounds and amputations, the graduate will have a high fidelity skill set and working index that will help them bring "life and death" realism to their exercises.

Students will take home a variety of reference materials, moulage products and construction materials, and completed renderings that are included in the workshop price. Students will also receive a course completion certificate indicating 24 contact hour credits per each three (3) day workshop.

Our newest course, the "WARFIGHTER", is coming in 2011!
Due to overwhelming success and demand from our professional on-site moulage services that we provide for mass casualty drills and training events we have been asked to teach a workshop on our professional services program.

This course will teach the important elements of designing, developing, and executing the medical portions of an ALL HAZARDS exercise in the military or civilian environment. This is a must course for anyone tasked to create a successful training event with satisfactory measurable outcomes.

The course will be taught by Homeland Security / FEMA and military certified planners, and is designed to be highly portable so that we can literally "walk the ground" with you as you build your own program.

MMCIS is available to assist you with your disaster event, from conception to completion. Contact us to discuss your specific exercise needs and a price quote prospectus.
